Laura Wildman-Hanlon is a Wiccan Priestess and a practitioner of the Craft for over 30 years. She is one of the founders of New Moon, an organization dedicated to helping build Pagan community, education and connection. She is the author of What’s Your Wicca I.Q., Wiccan Meditations, and Celebrating the Pagan Soul.
Exploring Heathenry – Jac Sinclair
Heathenry is the indigenous spiritual tradition of the ancient Germanic and Scandinavian people. Today, there are Heathens all over the world who are reconstructing ancient practices and creating their own. We will discuss core concepts and practices common to Heathens and examples of how particular communities are evolving their own traditions.
Jac Sinclair has been practicing Heathenry with the Chase Hill Kindred in Southern Vermont for over 15 years. She has led rituals, supported many more, both at Chase Hill and with other communities, including Earth Spirit. She observes hearth practices at home with her family, including care and tending of the land and land spirits. She and her wife find deep connection with the many native plants and diverse native species of birds, mammals, and insects who come to enjoy them.

How do we build faith & practice radical spiritual resistance in the age of fascism & climate collapse? How can we honor gods & ancestors & reject colonial whiteness in our communities? Through challenging realms, we will dive into group discussions & activities to explore decolonizing our euro diaspora pagan practices. Utilizing queer & Indigenous anticolonial thought & intersectional ecofeminist theory, we will deconstruct whiteness & heteropatriarchy in our practices. Let’s climb the branches together. Be prepared to be an active participant.
Eliza Dimitra (they/them) is an euro diasporic Appalachian queer witch, environmental ethnographer & ecosocialist organizer. They utilize esoteric movement & animism to resist imperial colonialism in the age of climate collapse. Their practices hail from Southern Appalachia, Northern Europe, & the Mediterranean, where they make an annual pilgrimage to southern Italy to study native traditions. Their project The Radical Animist aims to reconnect us with our nature kin, waken self to reject coloniality, and learn our own indigeneity.
